Rouxls Kaard is one of my newest characters of interest. Since he was fresh on my mind, he is quite high up on the shrine. But that doesn't necesarily mean I care about him most. He is one of the reasons I had gotten back into fanfiction reading
To be honest, I'm not sure why I like him so much. He is quite different from the type of character I usually like. Some of his "Common Hajim Shrine" traits are his long hair and eyelashes. But besides that, I'm not sure. There is also his capacity of being something more. As of writing this, there are only two parts or "chapters" to the game he comes from. He appears in both chapters, but is mostly just a running gag. However, there is a lot going on with him behind the scenes I can't help to latch on to. For example, he could easily end up as someone similar in character to Sans from the same franchise.
Both characters are seen as incompmentent for most of the game. But, Sans is also well known for being a powerful and serious character when he deems it necessary. I, and many others, cling on to the hope that Rouxls may end up in the same way.
He is shown in the game to have powers he really shouldn't have. For example, he can speak to you through the narrator's text. I don't have evidence of this, but I remember reading that he also spoke to the player through the files of the game.
At first, I had completely skipped over his character. I didn't find Deltarune interesting at first, only giving it a shot after hearing of chapter 2's "snowgrave" route. I didn't finishing watching a full playthrough of the game, but my interest was peaked enough then to go back. Then, I got to get a good glimspe into Rouxls' character and fell in love.
I find Rouxls to be a very pathetic person. I sympathize with him a lot. I also think he is a very handsome man. He may be made of slime/glue/ink, but he has made a good body. I am of the opinion that it was on purpose. He has manipulated his body in a way to be attractive. But to who? His body type is nothing like the other darkners that live in Card Kingdom. Though, they seem to find him "hunky" anyway. Even though he is only shown to be pathetic in canon so far, I still hold on to the belief that he can become powerful. I love the idea of him being able to "change the rules". He has already said that he makes up his own rules, so who's to say that he can't literally do this? He is the rules card, after all. Or, if this cannot be the case, there's another prediction that I am fond of. Rouxls Kaard shares a lot of similarities with Jevil and Spamton. Both of these characters are powerful secret bosses that have been driven insane. They also have "gimmicks" in their speech (sound familar?). Rouxls shares more traits with just spamton. Both are losers who may or may not have a lot to lose. Both could be desperate enough to make a deal with a mysterious stranger. I think it would be quite interesting to see Rouxls go insane after being led on by a stranger. Or, he could be easily thrown away as the gag character he is. I sure hope he follows us in chapter 3!
